The Alpha Sector is the area where new players begin their journey.
Differences
The Alpha Sector has mostly low threat level planets and mobs. It is here that players will progress through tier 1. The climactic event in the Alpha Sector is fighting the Penguin UFO for the first time to unlock tier 2. Finally, the player will be able to gain access to the Beta Sector, which presents greater challenges and rewards.
Materials
The Alpha Sector offers only the lowest tier ores. Players may have to mine deep into the planets here to find some of the rarer types. More advanced sectors will have more plentiful resources and better ores.
