Wire is a type of item used for creating circuits. Wire, as an item type, does not refer literally to wires but rather to active components such as the Pressure Plate.

Wire can be connected with the Wiring Tool. Wire has at least an input or an output, sometimes both and sometimes more than one of either.

Wires are made up of two components: input (such as a button, lever, pressure plate) and an output (such as a sliding door, alarms)

There is also a decorative item known as Wires, which is not a wire.
